I know that I am trying to hard to keep my head up high but I only have a few more months. I will let you know that the memories of the past six and a half months have been awesome.
How do you bring a sense of reality to your brand new husband that there is a living being in your stomach sucking every moment of being comfortable and normalcy, let him see your child move from one end of your tummy to another. I had two moments that sick out the most.
Chris had his hand on my tummy and out of no where he jerks his had back quickly like something bit him. I knew what happened but it was so funny to watch my husband for only a few months jerk his hand in fear.
" Are you ok?" I asked.
" She moved." His answer was in a tone of shock.
" Yeah, she does that." I retorted. He put his hand back on my tummy and spent the whole night feeling her.
This stage of first daddy is so funny to me. I didn't really have that with my two boys because I was too unhappy to notice, but this makes me more excited to have this little girl too.
The second time wasn't by my husband but it was so much better. Chris has this childhood friend, Colin, that is a character on to his own. I would have to say the best description I can give you to better understand what I mean. First take athleticism of Jason Statham, mix Macgiver's creativity to get out of anything, add a drunken jack sparrow, and put all of that in an oven cook until a golden brown and it comes out this tall dark army ranger that will give you the best time ever.
It was the night after our wedding, we were going to out to dinner and go see Harold and Kumar.Colin is funny but Colin intoxicated in just magnifying how entertaining he is. Colin wanted to fined a sweater, so we get to Macy's and go looking. I am being kicked. Colin has never felt a baby move. He asks if he can put his hand on my tummy. It happened. This great guy, removed his hand quickly because she kicked him. My little girl has Colin in the hand. The best part was the thing that he said next.
" I didn't know that they could do that."
The next couple months have been challenging. There has been infections, painful kicking, false alarms, and throwing up, but behind all of this is going to be this little girl.I can't wait for this little girl to come into this world and challenge everything I know.
I can only imagine what the teenage years are going to be.
